about
Karen Skog lives and work in Vinje in Telemark. She makes improvised concerts on her handcrafted instruments and works with installations where narratives are created through drawings, texts and sculptures. In Karen Skog Orkester the image of a classical violin and cello is transformed into quandrangular boxes of plywood. An old pump organ is breathing irregular rythms abd the theremin sends electric waves from the ether. She plays with the image of the orchestra and the interest in developing these instruments becomes as important as the sound itself.

Breathtaking work. A category of its own, where words like "beautiful" or "ugly" (and all similar words) are meaningless.
This just ís. Sound. Breathtaking. Overwhelming.
