Manja Ristic
Born in Belgrade 1979. violinist, sound artist, curator and researcher mostly active in the field of electro-acoustics, instrumental improv & experimental sound related arts. Graduated at the Belgrade Music Academy, then gained PGDip at the RCM, London. In recent years focused on developing her own notation system (Violin Revealed, Alternative Guide to Violin’s Sonic Life), which integrates intuitive graphics with microtonal instrumental approaches and highlights the development of cognitive memory in conceptual AV performance. Her sound art merges instrumental improv with field recording and electronics, supporting a concept of listening as an act and frequency dynamic catalyst. Collaborates with wide range of artists & performers. Manja is a founder of the Association of Multimedia Artists Auropolis (since 2004) & editor of ArtSync Radio, permanent stream dedicated to experimental sound related arts.

Who would have imagined Federico Durand as an appearance here (Third Dream)? The collaboration is enchanting.
Federico has a way with abstract but deceptively simple, nearly melodic single note patterns. That combined with Stephan’s multilayered drones…it just works at every level. Richard Erickson
